Ballet shoes come in both canvas and leather though leather is generally more preferred because of its durability and the ability to keep feet warm in cold studios. However, leather does not necessarily mean better shoes. Unlike canvas, each pieces of leather is unique and no two identical pairs of leather shoes will give the wearer the same feeling on the floor.
